Summer in Colorado is what dreams are made of, and San Juan Mountains Association is thrilled to announce Summer Adventure Camps in Pagosa Springs! Open to 6th through 8th graders on July 28 - August 1st.
We’ll spend our days hiking and exploring the San Juan mountains, rock climbing on our unique geology, and earning a beach day floating Stand-Up paddle boards at Pagosa Lakes. Join us for a week of fun-in-the-sun and high country adventures!

Mysteries of Chimney Rock Tour provides an in-depth discussion along the Great House Trail about the connection of Chimney Rock to the greater Chacon culture, the significance of the mesa-top Great House, and the day-to-day lives of the ancestral inhabitants of Chimney Rock.

Mesa Verde National Park is in need of volunteers to help control invasive thistles and mullein.A Weed Blitz will take place from 8:30 until noon on Monday, July 28th and Tuesday the 29th.Those interested should meet at the old Far View Visitor Center Parking Lot. Volunteers will be provided loppers, gloves, safety vests, and instructions.Registration is required at volunteer.gov.
We will be located just past the Far View Lodge at mile marker 15 on the park road.
volunteers should have hiking boots or shoes, hats, backpack, and water. Expect to walk up to 2 miles off trail. Minimum age 14.
The Great House Tour goes to the top of the mesa ridge for a 360-degree panoramic view of the landscape and a close-up of the two pinnacles with stops along the way to learn about the ancient Puebloan structures.
